Plain-English terms for the Get Online Package. If anything here doesn't match what I said on the phone, tell me, because one of them is wrong and it isn't going to be you who wears it.
The free preview
The preview costs nothing and puts you under no obligation. I build a real website for your business and send you a link.
Until you say yes, the preview stays mine and stays private, on an unlisted link that only you are sent. If you don't go ahead, it's deleted and never shown to anyone else in your trade or town.
What it costs
$449 to build, then $99 a month. Prices are in Australian dollars and are exclusive of GST.
I'm currently under the GST registration threshold, so no GST is charged today. If Vantoro registers for GST later, GST is added on top of these prices and I'll tell you before it happens.
Add-ons are priced separately and only added if you ask for them.
When and how you pay
When you say yes, I send you an invoice for the $449 build fee. It's due within 7 days, and your site goes live on your own web address once it's paid.
The $99 a month is charged automatically, by card or direct debit, through Stripe, a secure payment company. The first payment is taken the day your site goes live, then on the same date each month. Each payment covers the month ahead.
Any other invoice I send you is also due within 7 days.
The 12-month minimum
The monthly fee runs for a minimum of 12 months. That's what makes a $449 build possible instead of the few thousand this normally costs.
After 12 months you're month to month and can stop with 30 days' notice.
If you stop during the first 12 months, the remaining monthly fees for that period are still payable.
If a payment is late
If a payment is 7 days late, I'll send you a friendly reminder. It will say what's owed and when your site would go offline. Cards expire and things get missed, so it's only a reminder.
If a payment is 30 days late, your website goes offline until your account is up to date. Once you've caught up, it's back online within one business day, exactly as it was.
Taking the site offline doesn't end the agreement. The rest of your first 12 months is still payable, as set out above.
Who owns what
Your web address is registered in your name. You own it.
Your content, logo and photos stay yours.
Once the build is paid for, the website itself is yours. If you leave, you get a full working copy of the site to host anywhere you like. What stays with me is my shared kit: the tools I use to build and update every client's site.
What I'll do
Build, host and look after your site, make the changes you ask for, and keep the software behind it up to date.
I don't put a turnaround time on changes, because I'd rather do them properly than promise a number I can't always hit.
What I need from you
Accurate details. If you give me a licence number, an ABN or a claim to put on the site, I'll publish it as given and I'm relying on it being true.
Content you have the right to use. Don't send me photos you took from someone else's website.
If something goes wrong
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
These terms are governed by the law of New South Wales.
